Nurtured by Nature
The mission of Nurtured by Nature is to:
• Foster hope and well-being to children with life threatening to terminal illness through physical interactions with nature.
• Promote a healthy life outlook and healing for children who have suffered severe emotional trauma through physical interactions with nature.
• Inspire a bond between humankind and animals, promoting preservation.
• Create innovative and sustainable conservation projects.
Nurtured by Nature is very proud to host several species belonging to the Xenarthra superorder of mammals, such as sloths and armadillos, in our education programs. These species tend to be major highlights of the programs and many people are excited to have the opportunity to engage with these unique and amazing animals. Most importantly, every education outreach program raises funds for the research and conservation efforts of this unique group of mammals. Nurtured by Nature has established an agreement with the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Anteater, Sloth, & Armadillo Specialist Group to assist in funding projects and act as their official Fiscal Sponsor.
Foundation for International Aid to Animals
Foundation for International Aid to Animals (FIAA) is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2001 in NYC to promote humane and responsible treatment of domestic animals, prevent destructive interaction between domestic and wild animals, and to advocate for the conservation of wild animals and their natural habitats, with an emphasis on preserving biodiversity globally through working collaboratively with local inhabitants.
FIAA is working intensively in South America, Africa, Asia, Europe and the US supporting wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and reinsertion centers and animal care clinics. Through educational programs in schools, universities and on radio, video productions and other media, through collaborations with indigenous and local groups to organize environmental actions and conferences and to promote wildlife tourism, FIAA tirelessly works to raise consciousness about the need to conserve biodiversity for the future health of our planet.
