Xenarthra<\/em>\u2014formerly Edentata<\/em>\u2014is published by the IUCN\/SSC Anteater, Sloth and Armadillo Specialist Group (ASASG)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xenarthra<\/em> publishes scientific articles and news items in English, Spanish and Portuguese, with abstracts in two languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xenarthra<\/em> does not charge Article Processing Charges or submission charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is included in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)<\/a> and in the process of being indexed in Latindex<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Scope and aims<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Xenarthra<\/em> is the only periodical dedicated to publishing scientific articles and reports on different subjects regarding the conservation and natural history of xenarthrans\u2014among the least known of all mammal groups, and notoriously difficult to study in the wild. By helping to share information and stimulate exchange between xenarthran researchers, Xenarthra<\/em> promotes both the science and conservation of these fascinating animals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Xenarthra<\/em> also provides a forum for reports on the care and breeding of captive xenarthrans, whose needs are specialized and often barely known. Xenarthra<\/em> thus fulfills the additional role of communicating information among zoo professionals and other animal caretakers, as well as including them in the flow of information from field research.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
