Editorial process

Submitting a manuscript

Anyone wishing to submit a manuscript or other item should follow the author guidelines, which are available below.

All submissions may be sent to journal@xenarthrans.org.

Once the manuscript has been received:

  1. The editors will perform a first evaluation. Manuscripts not satisfying the editorial instructions will be returned to the corresponding author without review, but with the necessary comments to meet the guidelines.
  2. Manuscripts that comply with the editorial instructions will be assigned to an editor. The editor in charge will select at least two external reviewers who are specialists in the topic of the manuscript. Peer review is anonymous.
  3. Once the external reviews are received (approximately 20–30 days), the editor will inform the corresponding author about the results of the evaluation and the decision on merit for publication.
  4. In case the manuscript has been accepted for its publication, the editor will inform about the steps that need to be taken.

Please note: Xenarthra publishes articles in English, Spanish and Portuguese. If you are submitting an article in a language that is not your birth language, please have it thoroughly reviewed by a person proficient in that language before submitting it to us.
